Chris has been in the intellectual property profession since 2015. He is a Chartered Patent Attorney.
Chris works with companies specialising in a variety of technical fields, ranging in size from start-ups to multinationals. He has experience assisting with tasks including freedom-to-operate analysis, prior art searching, the drafting of applications and the prosecution of applications through to grant across a range of jurisdictions.
Chris graduated from Imperial College London with a first class degree in Materials Science and Engineering (MEng). He was awarded the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining Prize for performance throughout the whole of his undergraduate course. His final-year research project and dissertation were in the synthesis and characterisation of photocatalysts for solar water splitting. During his degree, Chris undertook a work placement as an undergraduate engineer at a large multinational engineering company in the UK focusing, in part, on the microstructural characterisation of ‘3D printed’ metals and the modelling of irradiation embrittlement in metals.
