Alex is a European Patent Attorney and a Chartered Patent Attorney, having joined the patent profession in 2017.
 
Alex has experience working in a diverse range of technical fields including telecommunications, semiconductors, opto-electronic devices, polymers, composites and cross-disciplinary matters such as electrochemical and biomolecular sensors. Alex has a particular interest in software inventions, including machine learning and information-processing applications with substantial theoretical subject matter.
 
Alex is experienced in drafting patent applications for Europe and the UK, and has particular experience prosecuting applications in the UK, Europe, the US, and Japan. Alex also has experience preparing substantive written appeals before the EPO, and the UK IPO.
 
He has worked with a range of clients from start-ups to multinational companies, and enjoys providing advice on the patent filing strategy of new companies. Alex also has experience advising on infringement and freedom to operate.
